Luke 2:11

My first memory of hearing the Christmas story is of my grandfather reading it on Christmas mornings from the big family bible. There were many bibles in my home - and they were read and studied - but this particular Bible held a place of prominence. It was only read from on special occasions, and it also served as the family register. Each family member's birth, marriage, and death were to be recorded there. It was revered and carefully preserved - a treasure that was to be handed down from generation to generation. I suppose that because it was such a big book and one that children were not allowed to leaf through, I was in awe of it.

But how my grandfather, with his expressive way of reading, could make that story come alive! It was a favorite time of Christmas for me.

Through the years, I've read that story to my children and my grandchildren, and the wonder of it all is that it never grows old. ?The Greatest Story Ever Told? must continue to be told.

This Advent?

?Anticipate? the presence of God's grace,

?Reflect? on His sacrificial love, and

Pray? that someday all the world will hear and accept that
He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
