Lord, Send Your Healing
By Andrea Hoxie

suffering under loads of imposed inferiority
we strain to understand why us

shackled by burdens of superiority
we refuse to accept that we, too, are other

cutting off our noses to spite hate-twisted faces
millions of us are also denied

stifled by mobs who determine others? places
there is more room at the table, as at the cross

bloodied, bruised, and broken, all are we
blinded by hatred and anger, we do not see

the need of the Master to set us free
for we all sin and come short

heal our hearts, minds, and eyes
Lord, send Your healing

sanctify us; fill us with Your Spirit
snuff out the hate, the greed, the anger

sanctify our bodies, our minds, and our souls
make us tools to build Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven

open our hearts and minds and let us see
at the end of the day, we only have each other

and all greatness comes from Thee
the Giver of every good and perfect gift

and the strength we have we find in each other
only through Your love, joy, peace

and long-suffering, goodness and faith,
meekness and temperance

All fruits of your healing
Lord, send your healing
