What's Going On in Family Ministry?

The Family Ministry Residency program is designed to further equip and empower seminary graduates for congregational ministry. It was this Residency program at South Main that stood out to me because I loved the ways the church was intentionally creating opportunities to prepare young ministers for a lifetime of ministry in the local church.

During college I began to sense a calling to ministry, and I have seen how my time at South Main will continue to refine where God is calling me beyond this place. I think the most unique part of this Residency is the opportunity to experience all aspects of Family Ministry and discover the ways the Church is called to come around each family unit in raising children that will continue to follow Christ into adulthood. I am excited to work as part of the Family Ministry team and rotate through the four age-specific ministry areas to teach, plan programming, and co-lead various events and trips. In addition to learning more about the Family Ministry, I look forward to experiencing other ministries of the church to learn more about the greater vision at South Main. I am confident that my time at South Main will grow me as both a follower of Christ and a minister of Christ's Church.
