A Day at the Museum

May 27, 2021 at 11:15 am

The new Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston is open with a beautiful and outstanding collection and our Mainstreamers and any other church member interested in spending a few hours at the museum are invited to experience it together on Thursday, May 27 as an early Memorial Day weekend treat. The museum opens at 11:00 AM and we will meet just inside the main entrance in front of the Museum Gift Shop at 11:15. Our own MFAH expert, J Hill, will walk us through the tunnel to the new Kinder Building. The admission is free on Thursdays courtesy of Shell Oil and the new Cafe Leonelli is open to grab some lunch if you wish inside the Kinder Building. (Credit card only, no cash.) Parking is available in all three of their garages. Member parking is free, and for non-members it's $10 for up to four hours. If you wish to park at the church and travel on the Metro to the museum, please feel free to do so. The Hockney-Van Gogh: Joy of Nature exhibit begins on May 27 as well, but is not included in General Admission and non-members would need to buy a ticket for $20 if you also wish to view this exhibit.

We hope all who want to join in this exciting field trip to one of our city's newest and most compelling venues, will come. There is no sign up, simply arrive by 11:15 or join us when you wish, and enjoy the day with your church family!
